"Science Alive" event attracts area youth

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Things were less than quiet today at the St. Joseph County Public Library.

Instead of checking out books, they were checking out science. Kids put down the books and got hands-on today at the library's main branch for "Science Alive."

From chemistry experiments to creepy crawlers, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

Kids got to enjoy science experiments and exhibits all day. This is the 20th year for the annual event.
