Archbishop weighs in
The archbishop of Indianapolis has sent a letter to the university expressing his disapproval of the school's decision to invite President Obama to speak.

The letter is one of the thousands Notre Dame is receiving from church and people all over the world.

The archbishop says he is "stunned, angered, and saddened" because the president supports abortion and embryonic stem cell research, two things the Catholic church strongly opposes.

The archbishop says he doesn't expect a response from Notre Dame or the president's invite to be cancelled, but says it's important for Catholic leaders to express their opinion.

On Friday, a protest is planned outside the university.

According to the leader of Operation Rescue, the group opposing Obama's visit, Republican political activist Alan Keyes plans to attend.
