Brian Kelly holds golf tournament in South Bend
Proceeds raised for breast cancer support
SOUTH BEND - He is expected to field a competitive football team this fall, but Monday Notre Dame football coach Brian Kelly brought some competition to the golf course.
More than 75 golfers came out for the Kelly Cares Foundation Golf Tournament at the Warren Golf course just north of campus. Kelly started the foundation for breast cancer support seven years ago after his wife Paqui was diagnosed twice with cancer.
The Kelly Cares foundation has ties at all his football coaching stops, and now they're just getting their feet wet in South Bend.
The Kelly Cares Foundation raised about $75,000 at the event.
