Grotto closed after fire
Crews still investigating cause
One of Notre Dame's oldest structures closed today after a fire.
Visitors can still pray around the outside of the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes, but they can't get inside.
There are safety concerns after last night's fire at the shrine.
Nobody was hurt. Crews are still looking into the cause.
There was visible damage to the stone which was blackened and burned foliage around the structure, but the statue of Mary and Bernadette, the young French girl to whom the blessed virgin appeared 18 times were untouched.
The Grotto was built in 1896.
