12-year-old hit by Dial-A-Ride bus

DOWAGIAC, Mich. – A 12-year-old Dowagiac Middle School student was seriously injured after he was struck by a Dial-A-Ride bus Friday afternoon.
Dowagiac Police say around 2:42 p.m., officers arrived to the scene in the 600 block of Riverside Drive where they determined the victim ran in front of the bus that was traveling south on Riverside Drive.
The victim sustained serious injuries in the accident and was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac and later airlifted to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo.
Officers say the crash is still under investigation.
