ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – A two-vehicle crash near Wakarusa left four people with injuries Sunday afternoon.

Elkhart County Deputies say they were called to the scene at the intersection of County Road 36 and County Road 9 around 5:20 p.m.

They found that a Chevy Equinox driven by 79-year-old Mary Waltz failed to yield to another vehicle in the intersection traveling westbound.

According to deputies, the vehicles struck, sending the westbound Chevy Silverado, driven by 17-year-old Jaryn Zimmerman, off the road and into a fence.

Waltz and all three of her passengers suffered minor injuries including leg and abdominal pain. Zimmerman was not hurt in the crash.
