84 months in jail for Elkhart man found in possession of methamphetamine

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- An Elkhart man was sentenced to 84 months in prison for possession of methamphetamine.

Thomas Hamet, 38, of Elkhart was sentenced before South Bend District Court Judge Robert  L  Miller Jr. for charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm.

Hamet’s sentence was 84 months imprisonment with two years of supervised release.

According to court documents, on February 3, 2017, Hamet allegedly had methamphetamine in his car which he intended to distribute. He was also found in possession of a Beretta handgun which was used in his drug business.
