Alleged drunk driver arrested after crashing into residence

PLYMOUTH, Ind. -- A driver was arrested early Sunday morning after his truck crashed into a residence in Plymouth, according to the Marshall County Sheriff's Department.

Tyler Thomas, 20, is facing a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle with a BAC of .15 or more.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Department was called to 13th Road and Olive Trail just before 5 a.m. Sunday after Thomas' truck struck a residence.

Witnesses told police Thomas turned around at the intersection, did a burnout, then lost control of his truck. After losing control, the truck struck the residence and damaged it.

Deputies conducted field sobriety tests on Thomas, which he failed, according to deputies.

Thomas was taken to the hospital for a certified test, which came back with a BAC of twice the legal limit, according to deputies.

Thomas was taken into custody on a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle with a BAC of .15 or more.
