ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- A Marion County judge appointed St. Joseph County Prosecutor Kenneth Cotter the special prosecutor in the fatal police shooting of Aaron Bailey.
Bailey was fatally shot by Indianapolis Metropolitan Police officers on June 29.
He was fleeing from a traffic stop, according to WRTV.
Bailey was shot four times.
Family members said there were 11 bullet holes in his vehicle, according to WRTV.
Cotter will review the investigation and determine if further investigation is warranted. He will also determine whether any charges will be filed.
Cotter has asked for the investigative files to be transferred to his office, according to the prosecutor's office.
