Deputies identify man killed in crash on May 2

The identity of the driver who was killed in a crash on May 2 on CR 362 has been released.

The Van Buren County Sheriff's Department was called to CR-362 east of 70th Street in Keeler Township around 7 p.m. on May 2.

The investigation revealed 23-year-old Adam Lee Hess was traveling eastbound on CR 362 when he lost control of his vehicle. It went off the side of the road and overturned several times.

Hess was ejected from the vehicle and died at Lakeland Watervliet Hospital.

The sheriff's department says Hess' blood tested positive for marijuana. His BAC was .02, well below the legal limit.

Hess was not wearing a seat belt.
