GRANGER, Ind – The deadline for FEMA claims of flooding during the February flooding is approaching.
FEMA designated February 14th to March 4th as the claims period for flooding that affected homes in the Michiana area.
FEMA has designated February 14th to March 4th the “incident period” that a homeowner can claim damage to their home.
As of June 12th 2,100 people have registered for FEMA aid and $2,100,000 has been approved for Indiana.
When a person with a credible claim files for FEMA aid they’re registered, then the next step is inspection and if it is deemed valid dispersal of aid follows.
FEMA representative William Lindsey stressed that FEMA will never call a home asking for financial information and if that occurs to call local law enforcement.
