Free hazardous waste drop-off in Elkhart Saturday

ELKHART, Ind. -- Residents of Elkhart can dispose of household hazardous waste items today.
Starting at 8:00 a.m. Saturday, residents can drop off items free of charge to have them safely disposed.
Drop-off is located at the Elkhart County Correctional Facility near County Road 27 and County Road 7.
The event lasts until 3:00 p.m.
Some of the items you can dispose of include:
- Flammable liquids
- Medications
- Household cleaners
- Fluorescent bulbs
This program is free and is offered on the first Saturday of every month.
