INDOT announces closure of State Road 149 for foreseeable future

PORTAGE, Ind. -- INDOT has announced the closure of State Road 149 at the Indiana Toll Road Bridge which is located between County Road 1000 North and Leeper Drive near Portage.

According to officials the closure begins Monday until mid-June.

The reason for the closure is due to a need for Indiana Toll Road crews to rehabilitate the bridge on SR 149.

Authorities say road detours must be along state-maintained roadways only.

Northbound drivers on SR 149 will be detoured across East US 6, North on State Road 49, and West on I-94 and then returned to SR 149.

Southbound drivers will be detoured along East US-20, East I-94, South along SR 49, and West on US-6 and then returned to SR 149.
