ISP Bremen post welcomes new K-9

Indiana State Police Trooper Kyle Glaze and his K-9 partner Nala graduated from the ISP K-9 Training School on Friday.

Glaze and Nala trained for twelve weeks in tracking, building searches, obedience, handler protection and drug recognition.

Nala was purchased from a kennel in Peru, Indiana.

The K-9s come to the State Police untrained and then go through the training process taught by Master Trainers Sergeant Dennis Wade, Master Trooper Mick Dockery, Master Trooper Kevin Waters, and K-9 Trainer Master Trooper Chris Richey.

Glaze has been a member of the Indiana State Police for almost three years.

He lives and works in St. Joseph County.

Nala was the first female K-9 selected as a patrol dog with the Indiana State Police.
