ST. JOSEPH, Mich. -- They are thankful for the cold temperatures and snow in St. Joseph, Michigan.

On Friday, the annual "Fire and Ice Festival" kicked off in downtown.

Five of the 10 best ice sculptors in the country are in town to show off their work!

They told us they are happy the weather cooperated!

"Of all the ice festivals in the Midwest, we've had the best luck so far. Mid 20's, little bit of snow coming down, no sun. We're very fortunate,” said Brian Smith, who lives in St. Joseph.

The ice festival goes through the weekend.

About 100 ice sculptures will be on display.
