SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Someone is reportedly spying on Indiana University South Bend students.
IUSB PD officers are alerting those on campus to stay safe.
According to a notice sent to students Tuesday, the voyeur has been lurking in bushes and peering into residential windows since August.
Both incidents were reported at River Crossing Student Housing.
“I don’t understand why people do that,” sophomore Allison Brickel said.
Brickel says she makes sure she’s aware of her surroundings when walking near the river on campus.
“I carry pepper spray with me, just to be safe and stuff,” Brickel said.
Campus police say students can do even more to protect themselves.
The crime notice sent out Tuesday, just hours after the voyeur was spotted again, campus police recommend students keep their curtains closed.
Students are advised not to walk alone and to stick to well-lit areas.
“I think it’s nice that they like send out an email, because for the kids who like don’t live on campus and commuter kids, it’s nice to have a heads up to keep an eye out for stuff like that,” Brickel said.
IUSBPD also advise walking on campus without headphones to be better prepared for the unexpected.
The suspect is unknown.
