NOW: Michiana Renaissance Festival is back this weekend

SOUTH BEND, Ind.-Take a step back in time this weekend! Michiana is taking you to the 1500’s this Saturday and Sunday.

The 7th annual Michiana Renaissance Festival is back and bigger than ever.

There will be a big cast of characters including pirates, vikings  a king and queen.

Not only is the event for entertainment, but also its an educational experience.

“Our mission is to promote the learning of history through fairs, festivals and lectures,” said Elizabeth Markell, President of Entertainment History.

The festival continues to grow as people come from Michiana and beyond to attend.

“The location was changed because we’re growing,” Markell said. “This is 42 acres of land, so we have plenty of room to spread out,” Markell said.
