Motorcycle driver airlifted after crash

LAGRANGE COUNTY, Mich. – A crash on U.S. 20 left one driver injured on Sunday afternoon, according to the LaGrange County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies say a pickup truck was stopped on U.S. 20 waiting for traffic to pass so a turn onto CR 100 East could be made when a motorcycle rear-ended the truck.

The driver of the truck, Susie Casteel, 63, was not injured in the crash.

The motorcycle's driver, 35-year-old Jayson Schemenauer, was airlifted from the scene to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries to his legs.

Alcohol and speed are believed to be contributing factors in this crash.

This accident is still under investigation.
