MSP Niles Post seeking 'Angel' volunteers

NILES, Mich. - The Michigan State Police are expanding their Angle program to the Niles post. The Angel program allows someone with a drug addiction to go to a state police post and seek help for their addiction without the threat of arrest or an investigation.

The MSP is seeking volunteers who will provide support to participants, which could include transporting the person to treatment.

Volunteers must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license and live within an hour of the post, among other requirements.

If you are interested, you must complete an application.

Volunteers will receive training before receiving any assignments.

You will be reimbursed for mileage and meals.
