For anyone who devotes their life to a sport, a championship is considered the pinnacle. For a career defined by reaching pinnacles, team success eventually results in recognition of the individual behind it all.
Notre Dame women's basketball coach Muffet McGraw can now claim the greatest individual accomplishment the sport has to offer: induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. While she alone receives the recognition, McGraw is quick to list those who lifted her to such heights. However, those people were among the most excited to see McGraw honored for her contributions to the sport and the community.
