New officers join Elkhart Police Department

ELKHART, Ind. -- During the Police Merit Commission Meeting Monday morning, Elkhart Mayor Tim Neese swore in three new Elkhart Police Officers.

  • Patrolman Casey Ianigro: graduated from Elkhart Central High School and attended Manchester University and Indiana University South Bend.
  • Patrolman Emily Swindle: graduated from McCutcheon High School and attended IBC/Vet tech institute.
  • Patrolman Paul Vandenburg: graduated from Niles High School and attended Kalamazoo Valley Community College.

Patrolmen Ianigro, Patrolman Swindle and Patrolman Vandenburg will attend the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in the near future.

Once they have completed the academy they will return to the Elkhart Police Department for additional field training.
