Officials investigating fatal stabbing at Mishawaka business, victim identified

MISHAWAKA, Ind. --- St. Joseph County Metro Homicide is investigating the death of one person at a Mishawaka business.

St. Joseph County Dispatch says they received a call that at least one person was stabbed. That call came in at 11:37 a.m. at Patrick Metals located at 5020 Lincolnway E. 

Police say the suspect and the deceased are coworkers.

The victim has been identified as 37-year-old Aaron Woods, Jr, of South Bend.

The suspect has not been located by police.

If you have any information on the suspect's whereabouts, you are asked to contact police.

While Dispatch did report this situation was a stabbing, Metro Homicide is leading the investigation and has not confirmed this is a stabbing investigation. 

A Penn Harris Madison Schools spokesperson says Penn High School, Moran Elementary, Bittersweet Elementary, Elsie Rogers Elementary Schmucker Middle School, and the Administration Building are all on an external lockdown due to this investigation. An external lockdown means students will not go outside and no visitors are allowed to enter the schools.
