Police arrest mother for alleged murders of Fort Wayne children

ELKHART, Ind. -

Elkhart Police arrested 29-year-old Amber Pasztor for the alleged murders of her two Fort Wayne children Monday night.

An AMBER Alert was issued at approximately 12:51 p.m. from the Allen County Sheriff’s Department regarding two missing children believed to be in danger.

Police say at approximately 5:25 p.m. an Elkhart police officer leaving the station was flagged down by a female driver of a gold Mercury Mystique, matching the description of the vehicle in the AMBER Alert.

The driver, later identified as Pasztor, allegedly told the officer there were two deceased children in the backseat of the vehicle.

According to police, the deceased juveniles were identified as Pasztor’s children, 7-year-old Liliana Hernandez and 6-year-old Rene Pasztor.

The mother was traveling with 65-year-old Frank Macomber whose whereabouts are unknown at this time.

Officials say Pasztor is the biological mother of the children but did not have legal custody.

The investigation is still ongoing.
