ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. - Two drivers are in the hospital after a crash.
It happened just after midnight Monday on Johnson Street in South Bend.
Police have identified the victims as Nick Tekler, 52, and Adam Pendle, 25, both of South Bend.
Investigators say Tekler's speed and possible alcohol usage may have played a role.
Neighbors say this road has issues when it comes to speeding drivers.
Witnesses say one of the trucks was traveling much faster than the 30 mile per hour speed limit.
Saint Joseph County police say two trucks were involved.
One had just pulled out of a driveway and the other was traveling east on Johnson.
Neighbors say-they aren't surprised to see a crash in the area.
"Speeding coming off of the hill, when people are coming east, is unbelievable,” says neighbor Judtih Galloway. “We have cars and motorcycles that travel 60 or 70 miles an hour. We have complained to police several times and they'll come and they'll sit here and catch people for a while. People will see them so they'll slow down and then the police leave. It's just unbelievable how fast cars travel."
Police say their investigation will continue.
