MISHAWAKA, Ind.-  A man is dead after a reported workplace stabbing. He has been identified as 37-year-old Aaron Woods of south bend. The suspect remains on the loose.

The St. Joe County Metro Homicide Unit, along with the help of Mishawaka and South Bend police and even county fatal alcohol crash team are investigating the scene at Patrick Metals in Mishawaka where it all happened.

Metro Homicide Commander Tim Corbett says they’re now in the interview portion of the investigation.

“There was an incident here there was a person down they were performing CPR,” says Corbett. “I got a call that the person was deceased.”

The next step is talking to witnesses, “Right now we’re interviewing 5 different people and I am not willing to speculate,” says Corbett.

The call came in around 11:30 Tuesday morning.

“From the radio, I got there was an incident over here they were sure what it was whether it was a shooting or stabbing.”

Mishawaka police then flooded the parking lot of Patrick Metals, a manufacturer on Lincolnway East, in Mishawaka.

Minutes later, those who appeared to know the victim or suspect paced the entrance of the company in disbelief.

“They shut down the plant and everyone else has been released, behind me you can see people leaving,” says Corbett.

According to Corbett the only relation between the suspect and victim is work and now investigators are still looking for the other individual.

“We do have one black male individual deceased and we’re actively seeking a party for this homicide.”

ABC57 News has reached out to some employees all declining comment at this time.
