Teens found guilty of murder in deadly home invasion

GOSHEN, Ind. — The three teens on trial for murder for a deadly home invasion have been found guilty. The jury deliberated for more than five hours. The verdict was read just after midnight.

The three teens face up to 65 years in prison each.

Friends and family members of the teens were in shock after the verdict was read.

Family members said that the people make mistakes and that the teens are now facing years in prison for not having killed anyone.

However, prosecutors disagree. For them, it sent a clear message to law breakers in Indiana.

Police say 17-year-old Blake Layman, Levi Sparks and 19-year-old Anthony Sharp were all part of a group that robbed a house in Elkhart County.

They say the homeowner pulled a gun and killed one of the robbers.

However, in Indiana criminal's involved do not have to actually pull the trigger to face felony murder charges.
