Two arrested after police recover stolen firearms, drugs

DOWAGIAC, Mich. -- Dowagiac Police arrested a man and woman on multiple charges after a several month investigation into stolen firearms.

On July 12, Dowagiac Police recovered firearms believed to have been stolen from a residence in the Keeler area in Van Buren County.

After a two month investigation, police developed two suspects. The suspects, a 30 year old male and 38 year old female, were arrested Monday off State Street.

During their arrest, police said they located methamphetamine, marijuana, and oxycontin.

The suspects face preliminary charges of conspiracy to receive and conceal stolen firearms, receiving and concealing stolen firearms, and multiple controlled substance charges.

The identities of the suspects are being withheld pending arraignment.
