A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for all of Michiana, starting at 10PM tonight, and lasting until 7PM Monday. It is possible that this will end up getting extended into Tuesday, as lake effect snow will follow the snow system that moves in tonight.
Snow will start moving in from the west by around 9PM, and snow will stay continuous through Monday morning. The commute to work tomorrow will be slick. The heaviest snow will likely be from around 6-11 AM. Snow will come to an end during the mid afternoon to evening, from west to east. After the system moves out, lake effect snow will start up Monday night, intensifying on Tuesday, and coming to an end early Wednesday morning.
Snowfall totals by Tuesday morning are looking to be in the 3-6” range, with even higher totals possible for Berrien and Cass counties. Extra accumulation by lake effect snow will be 1-4” extra snow by Wednesday morning. Lake effect will especially impact LaPorte, Starke, Pulaski, St. Joseph (IN), Marshall, Berrien, and Cass counties.
Tonight: Mostly cloudy to cloudy with snow starting for everyone after 9 PM. Low of 14.
Monday: Snow showers all day. High of 25.
Tuesday: Mostly cloudy with lake effect snow showers. Highs in the mid teens.
Wednesday: Lake effect ending early, then partly cloudy. Highs in the low 20s.
