NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- Domestic battery charges were dismissed against a former Notre Dame football coach.

The Prosecutor's Office says Michael Haywood completed a pre-trial diversion program -- including counseling and community service.

Haywood grabbed and injured his son's mother, in December 2010 at his South Bend home.

The woman called police, but said she never wanted Haywood arrested.

He was an offensive coordinator under former coach Charlie Weis.
