Irish beat Evansville 58-49 in season opener

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Notre Dame men’s basketball team opened its regular season on Saturday by honoring veterans with a victory over Evansville.

Military members got discounted tickets to watch the team that made it to the first round of the NCAA tournament last season.

The Irish defeated Evansville 58-48.

Next up for the Irish is Monmouth on Monday at the Purcell Pavilion.
