LaSalle Hotel being brought back to life

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The LaSalle Hotel, where legends like Knute Rockne stayed, is on its way to having a future with young professionals in downtown South Bend.

They've just begun taking down names for their waiting list. So far, the company has about 50 people signed up who want a piece of this history.

"Historically, you see these types of buildings being torn down," says Chris Fielding with South Bend Community Development. "This is one of the buildings in downtown that will offer that historical character that people will always want."

The building will hold 62 one and 2 bedroom apartments ranging in price from around $800-$1400, with the most expensive ones being on the top floor with the almost priceless views of the University of Notre Dame and surrounding parts of South Bend.
