Ready for blast off? Physics event to be held at Notre Dame

If you are curious about the world around you or want to learn more about rockets then you may be interested in this event.

From 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday there will be an Astroblast event held at Notre Dame's Jordan Hall.

The event is the last one for this school year and part of the "Our Universe Revealed" talk series.

There will be science craft projects where children can build their own planet.

“It’s a fantastic way to be able to engage with kids, kind of spark their interest and maybe they will be the generation of scientists who solve the mysteries of the universe around us,” said Jonathan Crass who is the Coordinator for the "Our Universe Revealed" series.

Experts will talk about a number of topics like rockets, how they work, galaxies, and more.

“I think trying to make physics and astronomy relatable to everyday life is what really helps people engage with it because it’s so out there,” Crass added.

The event is free, open to the public, and suitable for all ages.

“I think being able to meet experts who are actually doing that research. They are the people who do it every day and really understand it and having them explain it rather than looking through a textbook is a fantastic resource,” Crass said.
