Community Foundation offering multiple scholarships

The Community Foundation of Elkhart County has several scholarship opportunities available for students interested in furthering their education.

As of January 1st, about 25 scholarship opportunities will become available on their website.

Students can apply for scholarships by filling out the universal scholarship application. That one application will connect them with available scholarships for which they qualify.

Scholarship opportunities range from students who are interested in a degree in Medicine, Journalism, or Music just to name a few.

The bulk of the scholarships are for graduating seniors; however, there are also opportunities for adults.

"There are currently scholarships for adults who are looking to go back to IUSB and Ivy Tech specifically who are Elkhart County residents. So that they would apply for through the universal scholarship process," said Program Officer of Youth Development and Scholarships Amanda Jamison.

The organization was started 1989 and looks to reward Elkhart County residents who want to further their education. Their motto is "inspiring good, impacting success."

"Through the various scholarship funds here at the Community Foundation, last year there was about $1.7 million given away in scholarships," Jamison added.

Scholarship applications will be available from January 1 through March 1, 2017.
