LOS ANGELES, Calif. (CNN) -- Sotheby's will be auctioning the largest round diamond ever presented at auction next month.
The 110 carat diamond is expected to sell for $4 to $6 million.
The stone went on display in Los Angeles on Monday.
"It's not every day you see a hundred carat diamond. I mean, the reality is that the vast majority of diamonds ever mined are under one carat, and so, you can sort of count on two hands the number of hundred-carat diamonds that have ever been sold at auction, and this is the single largest round one that's ever been offered," said Quig Bruning, Sotheby's Jewelry Specialist.
The diamond will be up for auction in New York in early December.
