American Red Cross to hold Fallen Officer blood drive

This week is National Police Week and the American Red Cross is bringing awareness to fallen officers and the need for blood donations.

The American Red Cross will hold blood drives throughout Michiana during the summer months.

Starting in June, blood drives will be held in Elkhart, Kosciusko, LaGrange and Marshall counties:

  • Elkhart: June 12th from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. at Nappanee Police/EMS, 301 W. Lincoln St. in Nappanee.
  • Kosciusko: June 9th from 12 p.m.-6 p.m. at Center Lake Pavilion, 117 Canal St. in Warsaw.
  • LaGrange: June 9th from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at LaGrange First Church of God, 777 N. Detroit St. in LaGrange.
  • Marshall: June 29th from 1:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. at Marshall County Sheriff's Office, 1400 N. Pioneer Dr. in Plymouth.
According to the American Red Cross more than 30,000 units of blood have been collected since the 2007 start of the Fallen Officer blood drives.
