Election Day: What you need to know
Here are a few things you'll need to know for Election Day - November 2, 2021.
In Indiana, the only issue on the local ballot is the Concord Schools Referendum.
All counties in Michigan have items on the ballot.
In Berrien County, there are three races on the ballot in Benton Harbor for City Commissioner seats. There is also a race for an At-Large seat on the city of St. Joseph City Commission.
St. Joseph County residents in Constantine, Nottawa Township and Three Rivers will have items on their ballots. The issues include a road millage proposal in Nottawa Township, bond proposal for Constantine schools and city races in Three Rivers, including the mayoral race. Click here for more info.
In Van Buren County, South Haven has a mayoral race and city council members on the ballot. Hartford, Gobles and Covert all have city races on the ballot (see the candidates). There is a road millage levy proposal, controlled substances millage proposal, and Paw Paw Public Schools millage proposal.
Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The Michigan Voter Information Center has information about your voter registration, your polling location, a sample ballot and other valuable information.
Every Michigan voter must comply with the ID requirement by showing picture identification or signing an affidavit attesting that he or she is not in possession of picture identification. Voters can satisfy the ID requirement by showing a Michigan driver’s license or a Michigan personal identification card. Voters who do not possess either document may show any of the following forms of picture ID as long as it is current:
- Driver’s license or personal ID card issued by another state.
- Federal or state government-issued photo ID.
- U.S. passport.
- Military identification card with photo.
- Student identification with photo from a high school or an accredited institution of higher education
- Tribal identification card with photo.
