“It's a melting pot. There are people from Thailand, Germany and Guam. Growing up, I learned a lot about different cultures.” And she's still learning. It's one of the things Emily loves most about being a reporter and anchor.
“I like that I get to meet people from all walks of life and be an outlet to have their voices heard and hopefully, make a difference in the community.”
She comes to ABC 57 from KOMU in Columbia, Missouri, where she had a taste of nearly every job in the newsroom, from reporting to web producing. Emily is a graduate of the University of Missouri. When Emily isn't working, she likes to travel and explore new places, especially those off the beaten path. "It's my goal to travel somewhere new in the world every year. I just can't get enough of it!"
A major film buff, Emily also collects Marilyn Monroe memorabilia and loves watching old movies.
