NILES, Mich. -- Even with the stock declining, Facebook is still must for most people these days.

And, one local library is trying to help introduce it to some folks who have never used it before.

Saturday, the older generation got their chance to participate.
The public library in Niles held their very first Facebook for Seniors class.
Nearly 40 people came to make their very first profile!
Folks we talked to say it's best to keep an open mind about new technology..
"Well I just encourage anyone to just get involved. There's nothing scary about it," said participant, Frucci Rodgers.
"People want to stay in touch with what their grandchildren are doing.  They can't really do that unless they're on Facebook. because their grandchildren aren't writing letters anymore," said Laura Hollister.
The oldest participant in the class was an 87-year-old woman from Niles.
