Falling for Autumn
It's the most wonderful time of the year.
For me, anyway!
I love everything about the autumn season.
It is finally comfortable to spend lots of time outdoors without sweating your face off.
The leaves are changing...and that means piles of leaves to jump and play! Too bad I live in an apartment. (I will volunteer to rake leaves at your house if you let me jump in them!) When I was little I used to get really sad at this time of year for about a day as I mourned the leaves dying and falling. Thank goodness I got over that, quickly!
The smells and foods of fall are my favorites too...cider, apples, pumpkin, popcorn...YUM!
Now that I am done with school, I feel like this season is more enjoyable. I always felt a small sort of dread as the temperatures cooled knowing there was a LONG road ahead to the next summer vacation...but now, it just means relief from the heat (and the INSANE number of strong to severe thunderstorms we saw this summer).
But, it does mean that the Lake Effect Snow Machine is beginning to stir. I like to think of it as a monster...who awakens and we get dumped on with feet of snow. Thank goodness it is still hibernating for a while, and we have time to enjoy the fall colors.
