Identities of officers involved in DeKalb County shooting have been released
DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. -- According to the Indiana State Police an investigation into the officer involved shooting in Garret, Indiana is ongoing.
The shooting occurred on Tuesday night and both officers involved were interviewed by ISP investigators shortly thereafter.
The officers involved were Dekalb County Sheriff Deputy Todd McCormick, a 53-year-old man who has served 9 years with the Sheriff Department and Garrett Police Officer Alicia Castro, a 25-year-old who has been with the department for just four months.
Officials say McCormick suffered gunshot wounds to both hands and is being treated for his injuries.
Castro was not injured in the incident.
According to authorities this investigation will be turned over to the DeKalb County Prosecutor's Office upon its completion.
