Indiana house fire kills 3 children in city along Ohio River
TELL CITY, Ind. (AP) — Authorities say an overnight house fire has killed three children in a small southern Indiana city along the Ohio River.
The Indiana Department of Homeland Security says multiple people were inside the home when the fire broke out early Friday in Tell City.
The agency says three children died as a result of the fire. WFIE-TV reports that fire officials say the three victims were under age 12.
Three other people were taken to an area hospital following the fire. Their conditions were not immediately known.
The Indiana State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the deadly fire in Tell City, which is the Perry County seat. The city of about 7,300 residents is located along the Ohio River about 50 miles east of Evansville.
