But USC is not her alma mater. Marissa graduated from Pepperdine University in 2008. She's always been a storyteller, and knew at a very young age she wanted to be a journalist, so she earned her degree in broadcast news.
Marissa started her news career in Lafayette, Louisiana, where she was a morning anchor and dayside reporter.
She then joined the cable network Time Warner Cable where she was a sports and feature reporter.
She's been knee deep in flood water, blown over by tornadoes, and has even rubbed elbows with some of the biggest athletes at the ESPY's.
Outside the newsroom, Marissa loves to travel the world and experience new cultures. And if she's not chasing a story, you can most likely find her at crossfit. Marissa is excited to call the Midwest her new home, and excited for the opportunity to cover Michiana news.
You can email Marissa story ideas, follow her on Twitter and like her on Facebook.
