Michigan State Spartans clinch Big Ten regular-season title

MADISON, Wis. – The Michigan State Spartans held out against a tough Wisconsin Badgers team to earn an outright regular-season Big Ten title.

Analysts say despite a poor performance shooting from the field, Miles Bridges was able to put in two big time shots from the foul line to close out the Badgers 68-63 and set the Spartans 12th straight win into stone.

The Spartans had a huge helping performance from Cassius Winston who shot a perfect 6-6 from behind the arch and tallied a total 20 points in the win.

The victory was a gratifying feeling for the 2nd ranked Spartans to cap off what has been a turbulent season, according to sports analysts from ESPN.

Game statistics show Wisconsin was able to stick in in due to Brad Davidson’s 30 points. Davidson went 14-17 and 7-11 from deep in the Badgers loss. Davidson left the court with a trainer in the 2nd half and returned with minutes left in the game to a standing ovation. He scored the following six points with two three pointers that got the crowd on their feet.

The teams exchanged buckets the rest of the game until Bridges’ free throws iced the game for the Spartans.

Michigan State will now look to carry this momentum into the upcoming Big Ten Championship Tournament and March Madness.
