S. Indiana man dies after ATV rolls over, pins him in pond

DUFF, Ind. (AP) — Conservation officers say a 60-year-old southern Indiana man died when an all-terrain vehicle he was riding rolled into a pond, trapping him underwater.

A relative called 911 after finding Jeremy "Jerry" Terwiske trapped Sunday evening beneath the ATV in a private pond in the Dubois (doo-BOYS') County town of Ireland.

Conservation officers with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources responded and a coroner pronounced Terwiske dead at the scene about 45 miles northeast of Evansville. An autopsy was pending.

The (Jasper) Herald reports that Terwiske was a married father of three and a grandfather.
