South Bend Medical Foundation honors 9/11 victims with blood drives
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Medical Foundation honored local 9/11 victims by holding three blood drives throughout the community.
Adams High School graduates Katie McLoskey and Kathy Hawk Nicosia died in the tragedy.
Nicosia was a flight attendant on American Flight 11. McLoskey worked at the World Trade Center.
The medical foundation hopes the memory of September 11th will encourage people to donate.
"There is always a need and we hope everyone will come out and honor the victims of 9-11 and keep our blood supply where it needs to be," Collen Hahn said.
For every unit of blood donated on Tuesday, the SBMF donated five dollars to the Katie McLoskey Scholarship Fund.
