Vial of deadly virus missing from bioterror lab
GALVESTON, Texas — The search continues for a vial containing a potentially deadly virus. Lab techs reported it missing from a Texas research facility.
The lab says there was no breach in security, but they cannot find the vial.
It was being studied because of its potential use by terrorists as a biological weapon.
Investigators say the most likely secenerio is that this vial was inadvertently dropped in the lab, and swept up during routine cleaning.
And while the virus it contained can be deadly, experts said there is no need for people to panic.
