South Bend Police Department

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The St. Jospeh County Prosecutor's Office has officially charged 26-year-old Ddrea Bostic of South Bend with five counts stemming from the 2015 robbery and homicide of 41-year-old South Bend resident Guiseppe Bailey, and the robbery of Claude Ndayahundwa.

According to police, around 10:19 p.m. on May 17 of 2015, Bostic carjacked Ndayahundwa and ran over his legs. He then drove for a brief time before stopping and attempting to rob Bailey.

Court documents indicate that Bailey recognized Bostic and that is why Bosic ended up shooting him a single time in the chest.

Bostic was charged with the following counts:

  • Count I: Murder, a Felony
  • Count II: Murder, a Felony (Murder in commission of a felony)
  • Count III: Robbery Resulting in Bodily Injury, Level Three Felony
  • Count IV: (Attempted) Robbery, Level Three Felony
  • Count V: Felony Firearm Use Sentencing Enhancement

The sentencing range for murder is 45 to 65 years, the sentencing range for the felony firearm enhancement is five to 20 years, and the sentencing range for a level three felony is three to 16 years.

A warrant was issued for Bostic, who was already incarcerated in the Indiana Department of Corrections. Police say he is expected to be arraigned at a later date.
