St. Jospeh County Jail

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- Police say the man responsible for breaking into Dari Fair in Mishawaka on July 28 of last year is 32-year-old Dylan McDaniel who was already in jail for an unrelated crime when latent fingerprints gathered from the scene of the burglary matched McDaniel's.

He has officially been charged with felony burglary.

"Someone had broken in and cooked and ate food and took other small items," said Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for St. Joseph County Coleman Beckley. "McDaniel was Mirandized and interviewed and ultimately admitted to the Dari Fair burglary and specifically admitted to taking and eating food. [He] specifically stated that he pushed open a window and entered the business after hours. [He] also admitted to taking chips and cheese from the business."
