South Bend Police Department

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Police Department’s 2nd Annual Stock Up for Summer Food and Necessities Drive is concluding this Saturday with a drive-thru donation event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. outside the department at 701 W. Sample Street.

Donation boxes will be set up in the SBPD’s main lobby though this Friday.

"This drive aims to keep the SBPD Food Pantry stocked throughout the summer," said SBPD Media Liaison Ashley O'Chap. "When school is out of session, some families may experience a tougher time accessing food or other necessities."

SBPD is looking for donations of:

  • Canned foods
  • Boxed meals
  • Pasta
  • Peanut butter / Jelly
  • Cereal
  • Hygiene products
  • Diapers
  • Wipes
  • Formula
  • Any other non-perishable food item or hygiene product

Officials say that SBPD Officers have 24/7 access to the pantry, which they can visit when they encounter an individual on a call who may need some immediate extra help with food or baby items.
