NILES, Mich. - More and more cannabis dispensaries are popping up all around Southwest Michigan in places like Three Oaks, New Buffalo, Buchanan, and Niles.
Saturday marked their fourth 4/20 at Green Stem dispensary since opening in 2020.
They say the day went smoothly, with lots of online orders, and heavy foot traffic.
“This year were happy to report that we saw well over 1000 people which means there's that many more people coming to the area to spend money,” said Lynch Lindgren, Brand Manager at Green Stem.
Green Stem management say they even saw people coming in from out of state to enjoy the holiday.
“We finally started breaking big records from like Fourth of July or in the middle of summer when everybody is here for their cabin,” said Lindgren.
They predict more growth in the coming years.
“So, it's not the just the same million people buying like it was like four years ago, now we got six million people buying so there's plenty to go around,” said Lindgren.
People at Green Stem also say sales usually go up around major holidays like the Fourth of July and Memorial Day.
